SmartQuantum at the NIST workshop

SmartQuantum will participate at the single photon workshop SPW09 organized by the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and IARPA (Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity).

During the opening session Mr. Jerome Prieur, Managing Director and VP at SmartQuantum Inc, is invited to speak about the low-noise and high QE single photon detector called the SQLightSensor.

The workshop will be held at the NIST from Tuesday 3rd to Friday, 6th November 2009.

SmartQuantum Shows its outstanding Single Photon Detector, DFB laser modules and broadband light sources at ECOC 2009 booth 112

SmartQuantum is launching the very low-noise APD single photon detector, stable DFB laser modules and stable broadband super luminescent SLED light sources at ECOC booth 112 from 21 - 23 September 2009 in Vienna.

New Photonic Business Unit

SmartQuantum has launched during the LaserWorld 2009 exhibition show last June a new range of photonic products.

Those products results from the mastering of the Quantum Cryptography technology.

They are therefore valued added, high performance measurement products.

Thanks to the performances and the integration of the photon detector, the product is very attractive and the first sales have been concluded this summer.

SQDefender Compatibility with 100Gb/s data flow

SQBox Defender compliance with Ultra Dense WDM networks

SmartQuantum has carried out a live demonstration of the SQBox Defender compatibility with a 100 Gigabit-Ethernet network

The objective of the demonstration was to present the compatibility of its data flow encryption solution (Gigabit encryption using quantum cryptography : the SQBox Defender WDM) within optical UDWDM network data flow.

In this case a 100Gb/s (10 λ at 10Gb/s) for Metro and Shorthaul applications.

This is the confirmation that the SQBox Defender WDM has the capacity to respond to the security needs of actual high-speed networks, but is also powerful enough to respond to their evolution.

NATO selects SmartQuantum

NATO Selects Smartquantum to participate to its information security symposium : the "NATO IA Symposium"

This is a hudge success for smartQuantum and a very good opportunity to present its solutions to more than 400 NATO delegates and 180 industry representatives.

Allied nations therefore confirm their need to equipments adapted to sensitive networks protection.

Few words on the symposium :

The NATO IA Symposium (NIAS) is an annual event between senior NATO, NATO national IA staff and leading industry IA providors to develop industry best practice solutions for NATO use.

The NATO IAS will bring together more than 400 NATO delegates and 180 industry representitives. NIAS is the biggest IA event within the NATO IA calender.

International telecoms standards

Working group for the creation on international standard on quantum cryptography for Telecom applications

L’ETSI (the European Standard Telecom Institute) is launching the project of quantum cryptography standards.

The creation of this working group reveals the growing need in the Telecom industry for international standards on quantum cryptography.

As an active member of the ETSI, SmartQuantum is part of the working group.

The ETSI says : "Quantum cryptography has great potential to become the key technology for securing confidentiality and privacy of communication in the future ICT world and thus to become the driver for the success of a series of services in the field of e-government, e-commerce, e-health, transmission of biometric data, intelligent transport systems and many others."

Defence minister visit at the GICAT.

The French Defence minister came to congratulate the french innovation on the GICAT booth.

Hervé Morin, the Defence Minister was with Mr Lureau (the DGA Director) when he came to visit the SmartQuantum booth (see the picture).

SmartQuantum has been selected to be a member of the GICAT. The GICAT is a group of the top French Defense industry for land activites

GICAT, a professional association established in 1979, gathers French companies which are involved in the research, development, manu­facture, promotion and service of equipment support.

GICAT represents the interests of its members to governmental authorities, armies staff, and administrations in France and abroad. GICAT signs with the French Army a protocol of partnership, leaning on a conjunction of in directors and users of land air systems.

GICAT brings together more than 80 membersand among them the French companies- Prime contractors and SME’S - whose combined skills are essential for the requirements of a modern land defence.
